Bought a feeder from Bass Pro over the weekend - they had a big sale. It appears to be working fine. I placed it in the bottom below my house, next to the new shooting tower. I have no intensions of hunting there, just drawing them in to have a look, maybe take some pictures.
I opted for the solar charger to keep the battery charged.
Took the boy squirrel hunting yesterday morning - he took three - and ended up with a butt load of chiggers!!! Yikes!
Anybody know if whitetail are sensitive to permanone soaked clothing? If it's still warm 1 October I'm soaking in it before going back to the woods.

Thanks - I told him he was a sissy for using the shotgun; didn't phase him.
Guys, here in southern Indiana I use a combination of hang-on stands, ladder stands, and a climber. I place the hang-ons and ladders in places too thick for climbers and where appropriate trees are scarce. I use the climber almost exclusively and never hunt the same tree twice (except for the hang-ons and ladders).
Also, in my prime "rut-funnels" I never go near them until November (our rut is usually starting to kick in early November). Indiana has a one-buck-rule, so in OctoberI usually hunt does and usethe early seasonto scout the fringes for bucks. During rut I'm exclusively hunting bucks and using up my secret spots.
What are some of your tactics?
