Hey guys,I have been out a few times and once i got out of my stand too early and a buck ran back into the woods. I'm not sure how big he was i just saw some antlers. Another time i went out and as i was walking out i saw the big eight pointer that i have been trying to get. He was about 30 yards away but it was getting too dark and didnt want to make a bad shot. How has all of your hunting been?

I had a good hunt on Saturday evening. I videod a 5pt pushing a doe around, then he hit a couple licking branches, thrashed his antlers in the trees and peed in a scrape. Right at last night, I saw 2 PY bucks entering the bean field. The biggest would probably got 150+.

Let the public flogging begin. I left my stand 30 seconds too early tonight. Literally, 30 seconds. I had got no more than 15 yards from my ground blind whenI saw him through an opening that was not visible from my blind. If I would have stayed where I was for half a minute he would have walked in the open right in front of me. As it was I played tag with him for a few minutes in the brush, and got himto full draw, 40 yards. But, the light was getting bad and I wasn't exactly sure of the range. I had my 40 yard pin on him, all I had to do was drop the string. I just wasn't sure enough of the exact range though, not 'till after he was gone. I didn't shoot.

Was he big? Oh yeah. Would have been my biggest ever. Wide and tall.

30 freakin seconds, I can't believe it.
Sucks...Out loud! Opportunity will prevail,again.

I've been hunting twice this season. first time i saw a few does. 2nd time i arrows a nice 150 lb pig. Gonna wait until it cools off before going out again. Not gonna bag a smart buck when I'm drenched in sweat. Supposed to get a nice little cool front tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes.

Well I still haven't got a buck yet, been seein' plenty, just not big enough. Had twocome by this morning, one within knife fighting range of my ground blind, but he was a young 7 point. Then a few does came along, and I decided to go ahead and put some meat in the freezer, but one of them caught me when I drew. They ran outa couple stepspast a little treeI had ranged earlier at 38 yards, so I put my 40 yard pin on and watched that lumenock go right through both lungs on a slight quartering away shot. She ran about50 yards and I watched her fall and not get up. Meat is already chillin' in the freezer.

The shot looks high in that pic, but it's the way she's laying.

Congrats critter!!!!! I haven't been abel to harvest a deer, but I was able to get my first turkey ever last night with a bow out of a Double Bull blind. I saw a good buck running a doe around a cut bean field. He wasn't going after her hard, but definately showing a little curiosity. Gotta love this cold weather.

Congrats on the turkey!

Is everyone still alive out there? It is really starting to get to be time to hunt here, things are cooling off real nice, deer movements are really picking up, even got 5" of rain this week. Got the showpigs in line this week and bought some "personal time", so I ought to be able to hit it hard again this weekend. Time to move in on the bigun if I can.

My first serious weekend of hunting begins this weekend. The weather looks promiing and so does the deer sign. Hopefully I can top that 146 lb doe I shot a few weeks back with something with antlers.
