Bad news for Monday. Its opening day for gun season and supposed to be in the 70's!!!!! And theres snow on the ground right now!!! Its crazy.

Alright, I figured it out, so here's the story.

I was hunting w/ my dad and we were sitting up on a hill glassing when we spotted this buck w/ a smaller 2pt (4pt for most of you) coming out of a stock damn about 3/4 miles away and they were heading the other direction. We went back to the pickup and tried to get to the other side, and met another guy on the road that owned the land right next to the piece the deer was on, and while we were visiting w/ him we saw the deer head out onto his ground. His son decided he wanted to shoot it so they drove down to his ground while my dad and I circled a couple of miles down and around to my godfathers land. I set up there, hoping that they would push the deer to me, and I had been set up for about 5 minutes when I heard shots. Figuring it was a dead deer, I started walking to the pickup again. About half way, I noticed the deer come over the hill and down into the draw that I was in. After he started back up the other side of the draw I let my 300 do the rest. The funny thing is that w/i 2 minutes and not more than 100 yards away, the smaller buck stopped the doe and started breeding her, somehow knowing that the bigger buck wasn't going to be able to run him off anymore!:D

Anyway, the buck green scored 131 3/8 gross (128 2/8 net) so I'll get it posted for our team.
