I was hoping some one would start a thread for our team. My name is John Garcia, 27, I am from the Dallas Fort Worth area. I hunt mostly in the southwest region of Texas (Hill Country). I also shot a 140 class 9 point (without deductions) last season unfortunately I failed to get on a team. Glad to be on this one look forward to reading about everyone.

Mike here from SE Wisconsin. Hunting season for me is Oct. 31 and again in november. Cant wait for deer season, bow season opens this saturday and will be huntinga differnet farm than i gun hunt on, so i dont have to worry about shooting the monsters with a bow and losing that score for the gun team!!!

Are we gonna come up with a name for the team or do we not do that for this contest?

Hi, just checking in here, too. My name is Matt, and although I'm on another (better) team, I would like to point out that it apperas the 7 team has a significant advantage.

Atleast in theory.

UM, why because of a father son on same team? That could be a drawback[8D]

Yeah a name would be cool.

RE: Official Team #2 Thread

Am I on team #2? When I saw my name on team 2 I did not even scroll down further.

It does look as if I am on team #2. We just had our annual meeting last night and we are very excited about the up coming year. We should have plenty of nice bucks and two farmers have seen a couple that are the talk of the club. My uncle is the huntmaster and he saw one and said it was the biggest deer he had seen in 10 years.

Team two on paper but #1 in the contest!!!!

At out meeting the other night for the hunt club, we had some land owners tell us about some nice deer. We knew of a few but one guy told us that he is seeing what looks to be a booner on his farm. My uncle is a land owner also and he has a deer on his land that he says is the biggest deer he has seen in about 5 or 6 years. I am getting very excited about the season!!!!!!

Go team 2!!

we had our early tzone hunt here in WI which is does only but i slammed two of em. one today and one friday. thursday morning i seen two dandy's about 175 yards from my gun stand, which i was sitting in, but we are in shotgun only zone here so 175 is too far for me to shoot anyway. anyway they were about 40 yards from one of my bowstands so that is quite promising.

RE: Official Team #2 Thread

glad to here things look promising for you Beagle001. Wish I could say the same thing made it to the lease saturday night and woke up late sunday and ended up getting skunked (not literally) but did not see a thing. Probably had a lot to do with the fact that my wife went with me for the first time ever and I had to do more explaining and teaching than actual scouting. However I did get the feeders filled and the scout camera's back up I like seeing what goes on during the week while I am gone. hopefully I have better luck next weekend since It is opening weekend.

We had our land owners supper last Wed. and as I was leaving the club I saw 5 does and one 8 point that I hope will make it throught the season. He was about 15 or 16 wide and about 13 or 14 high. Not so heavy but a good start, very nice next year. 18 days and I am ready!!!!!
Go team #2!!!

We were getting to bottom again, so I posted. We had a clean up day and again next Sat. and then opening day on the 19th. We made two more pins for my buddies dogs and all we have left is to hang the gates and put in the houses.

Who knows how to do the signature thing?

jeg3455 11-09-2005 12:37 PM

RE: Official Team #2 Thread

I have no idea about the signature thing, however I will report that the season has officially opened. Not thing mature has shown up yet but, I have seen a nice 10pt,2 1/2years old. He will be a stud. I also have a 21/2 to 31/2 year old 8pt, I can't tell but he will easily score 130still waiting for those bruisers to come out it is just to darn hot. I do have some good looking young bucks though.Hope everything is going well for everyone else. By the way I thought of a good name also, Bang'em And Hang'em

whitetailhunter4637 11-09-2005 01:08 PM

RE: Official Team #2 Thread

i think that Bang em and Hang em would be more of a slogan or something along those lines

Beagle001 11-09-2005 07:17 PM

RE: Official Team #2 Thread

been seeing a lot of great bucks here lately and one that in the past two days has gone 30 yards from my gun stand at 4:00 on the dot. hopefully he decides to come thru when season starts

RE: Official Team #2 Thread

I was just trying to come up with something original. Dueces Wild sounds kind of cliche. I don't really care though not many people seem to be interested in a team name anyways, so I guess we can be called Dueces Wild. I'll secondit.

Allen Denton 11-13-2005 05:37 PM

RE: Official Team #2 Thread

Team 2 is fine with me, but what ever everyone comes up with will work. Again we had a clean up day on Sat. and I saw another great buck. A really heavy 10 point about 20 inches wide. I am sooooo ready for next Sat. This Wed. we have the game biologist comig to go over or data from last year. They give us the age of our bucks by jaw bones.
