RE: Official Rules

I see 2 guys now have pictures that arent quite right by the rules.First one the bodyis goneand one the pic with the bow there isnt a body and the body pic is without the bow and the tag isnt on the buck either.I hope people are going to start getting this right.I would hate to see someone deer get disqualified for not having the pictures correct.Esoecially if they are on my team LOL.

The last post in the scorecard, alwyshntnhashisbow on the back of the deer. You can barely make out the face of the top limb extending from below the deer's ear to the tree. Don't know if Missouri has tags, not all states do.

The one was revisioned, the other is his first bow kill we didn't doubt it in the least however you raise a great point, everyone should heed the rules before someones deer is disqualified.

Mathewsman also shot his deer before the rules were posted. Buck was shot on the 21st. Rules were posted 4 days later.

Everything looks good to me except I think Mule deer should be entered the same way as whitetails. I doubt there will be hardly any mule-deer entered, but geez, arrowing a mule-deer is tough. How many people with that bowhunt muledeer actually pass up just average ones to get a big one? Not very many. The chances with a bow aren't there like they are with whitetails. I could see dropping the score a little if it was rifle, but bow, doesn't seem fair. I think we should just keep it even. I think most anybody that's hunted mulies with a bow could agree with me on this one. Just my 2 cents.
I totally agree. Probably the toughest animal to arrow is a P&Y mule deer. % really isn't needed IMO. I've been hunting mule deer all my life with my bow. I know how to hunt big mulies and have several bruisers with my rifle. I personally have never killed a P&Y qualified mule deer and have tried every dang year to do so. I would be excited to get near a 140 class buck with my bow, yet disappointed withmy rifle. Just trying to provide another opinion from someone who is a diehard hunter of them. I would bet most people on here have never chased them, nor really understand how difficult it is to shoot a P&Y class buck. Another 2 cents. ;)

Scoring?? Does the deer have to be scored by a qualified person? Is it done from the picture (I don't know how you could)? How do you get the score and how do we no posted scores are accurate??

RE: Official Rules

Mossman, you need to score your buck yourself and it's done on the honor system. If the score doesn't match the photo...we ask for all the measurements to verify the score. Again, it's on the honor system.
