They agreed to allow mulies a while ago for the contest. You just have to divide the score of the mulie by .83 I believe it is.

P&Y white tail is 125
P&Y mulie is 140

So the difference is the .83 It makes it all fair and even.

GroundHunter,

The groups you talk about are rifle hunters. They also have a whitetail competition there aswell. So your argument holds no butter.

I'm in for the bowhunt contest.

P&Y Mulie is 145 making it .86 and hear is the post about this. [link]http://forum.hunting.net/asppg/tm.asp?m=733893[/link]

Looks like we need to have an official rule added and agreed to by the captains.

To exclude Mulies would really make no sense. I would bet we would loose close to an entire team (10) guys because of this. Let's keep everyone in the contest here and have fun.

.86 sounds fair to me. I am willing to be several whitetail hunters will kill bigger buck than the mulie I hope to tag. Some fella already shot the Mulie I wanted in Nevada just a few weeks ago. World Record gross score is about 211 and change.

Rob, some states such as MS will let you bow hunt throughout all seasons. For me, that is October 1 - January 31. I assume a deer killed with archery gear during ANY season will be permitted?

Some places in NJ you have "earn-a-buck". Meaning...you must harvest a doe first. What a handicap! ;)

So, are outfitter hunt bucks allowed or not?

Everything looks good to me except I think Mule deer should be entered the same way as whitetails. I doubt there will be hardly any mule-deer entered, but geez, arrowing a mule-deer is tough. How many people with that bowhunt muledeer actually pass up just average ones to get a big one? Not very many. The chances with a bow aren't there like they are with whitetails. I could see dropping the score a little if it was rifle, but bow, doesn't seem fair. I think we should just keep it even. I think most anybody that's hunted mulies with a bow could agree with me on this one. Just my 2 cents.
