RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread

RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
I think we should go with the alternate as well. He's had a lot of time to respond, and we need to complete the team.
Here's a pic off my first set of pic's on the trail cam.....what a monster! Defintely hoping he passes the stand on first morning. :D ![]() |
RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
Dang! I sized the pic down too much. If you do check it out good, you can see the 3-4" spikes. LOL.

Big G - click "My Profile" at the top right of this screen. From there you can update information about yourself and add signatures.
In the signature section towards the bottom of that screen, type in the following... [img]http://tinypic.com/axmc6p.gif |

I like the sound of Captain Hazcon. You are the man. Very nice looking buck there too. As for BB I know last year we had a couple who didn't come in often and then quit in mid October. Never heard from them again. I am all for getting an alternate on the team. Not trying to cut someone out but they do need to check in.

RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
Haz...Thanks.
This is the little guy I got last year. The ten point has a smaller body, but bigger rack. |
RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
I don't even know if he has 10" of horn. LOL. Well I have to pick up my bow tonight from the shop....new string, speed lizard, arrow's, and broadhead's for the upcoming season.
Maybe I'll get a pic and post it later tonight.... |
RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread

RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
Picked up a new Copper John release. Eagle series release that is a combination trigger/back tension release. Show a few times today with it at Bass Pro and liked the feel. So I picked it up to replace the Scott Mongoose I lost last season. We'll see how it feels tomorrow when I put some arrow's into the old Wally World deer in the backyard.
|
RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
Let us know how you like that back tension release. I was thinking about getting one at one time but they seem fairly dangerous. Curious to see how it works for you.
|
RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
I got out today and shot with the new release....probaly 30 arrows or so in the span of a hour or more. I have to say it does take some getting used to, but it didn't take long to master using this style release. It's not all back tension, as there is a triggering device where your middle finger rests on the release. It's kinda tricky learning to get to full draw with out letting the arrow go, but it only took me a minute to get the proper draw technique down. With this release you get to full draw and rest your hand around the release....you pick your spot on the target and slowly start to ball up a fist around the release and before you know it bam! The arrow is flying towards the target.
This type of release eliminates any flinch or hesitation before the shot, and improved my groups alittle. So it has it's advantages. But getting used to this style release is challenging...but by seasons open I expect it will be second nature to draw, take aim, and release with no problems. Definetly pleased with the new release to this point....it's differnt then the caliper style trigger releases I have always shot...but I'm going to give this release a chance. ![]() |

RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
Hey guys,
Looks like we got pretty lucky. I guess a Tornado hit right around our hunting cabin. My Dad was out there and said we lost a lot of trees all around but the only damage was some shingles on the one shed. It did lay down about 50 trees in the road getting back to the cabin. Guess I will be spending Labor Day weekend laboring to get the road cleared. At least we still have a place to stay. I also will be checking the trail cam this weekend. I hope to have some better pictures of that big one out there. I'll keep you all posted. |
RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
Glad to hear there wasn't any damage to your cabin WI. I hope everybody else fared well through this nasty weather.

RE: Official Team Fear This (24) Thread
Thanks RI, we did get very lucky. A weekend with the chain saws and we will be all done. Plenty of fire wood and new brush piles for rabbit hunting.
Do we have anyone from the state of LA that is getting hit with this on our team? I know Zac123 is not on our team but he is in the heart of all of this. Don't see that we did this so if everyone could copy this and post where they are from it would be fun to see how many states we have all in one place post. I know last year my team had 8 states covered. Vogt 51 RIStrutStopper deerslayer_37 HighCountry_Bruteforce huntinMN HAZCON7 beerNbones wihunter402 - Wisconsin Rick James Big G |

I'll be hunting in RI and looks like in CT too. Sept 15 opener in CT, and I didn't get my tags yet, but my wife and I will do a Hartford road trip because I don't trust the mail to get my app there and tags back before the opener. Of course, my daughter has something going on she's been looking forward to for a while the first Saturday of the CT season, so I guess I'll just have to take some time off from work for opening day :D RI opens on Oct 1. I've got some small private land spots this year that I have permission on in both states, I hope they pay off.
