YEAH us Illinois boys gota stick to gether! lol

I have about 900 hours in teh woods already this year scouting seting up and trimming, constant pruning of my shoting lanes and what not so i am pretty confident i will score... remember guys teh team that won last year had mostly lower scores.. around 100 points each... yes teher were those few that got HUGE scores but the average was just around 100...

i think if we just consentrate on a good buck.. dont worry about those GIANT bucks we will win this thing hands down..

IBM hows it going ol buddy... i couldnt ask for a better teamate than you.. just dont dissapear this year 1/2 way thru the season ;):D causing us to have a caniption...

i see Buckeye likes our thread more than his own AGAIN!

daystalker, good to meet a fellow Illini...sounds like you've been busy.

Now it makes sense when IBM said he is not going anywhere this year...finding out he's a popular guy on here.

My stands are hung and ready to rock n' roll. IBM, you hunt over by Jubille College State Park? There are some nice bucks over there. I plan to hunt there after work a couple of times this year. It's about 12 minutes from my office to the park.

Yeah, a friend of the family lives right outside Monica and I have another friend that lives right outside Princeville.

Plenty of bruisers over there.

16 Dairy King- check
27 308hunter - check
236 Hoytteen
66 hunter25 - check

i didnt see Hoytteen yet. unless i miss ya in which case Im totally sorry...

OK, IBM.... whats all this smack talk?? i thought our motto was we just came to hunt...
I tried to live by that one last season, i didnt really care much for smack talk... i just like spending quality time out in the field...

now just to get our guys riled up, who hunts private land and who hunts public land, and describe the property or yoru tree stand location?

My spot is on a private property, that my father-in-law owns... its kinda coushy... if it gets too cold out i can walk back into the barn and open the hay loft door, and i get a good view of the corn row and the line of trees bordering teh property and teh creek... we see lots of deer out here because its a corridor and a funnel... lots of fresh water right theer and its hidden from the rest of the property... the bad thing is the neighbors can see me when im out hunting...KINDA

the best part is we have a few HUGE does walking around the property, which should bring in some compitition, i hope. there are a few rub lines along soem pines on the north end, and there is a couple HUGE rubs on some of teh trees close to house... IM hoping these big fellas come back this year and try to mark up my trees again :) i figured they had to be made last year because they are not that old and i dont remember seeing them last year when i hunted here.

as far as tree stand location, i have two not including the barn :D one in a pine tree with a nice cut out deep inside of it so i am shielded from wind on both sides and covered from the rain above... its a huge pine tree, i had to trim a path up the center of the tree.. its cool because the path up the tree is completely covered by branches, so once i go into my spot you cant see anything untill i get to my stand. teh other is in teh oak tree on the south end of teh property.. i think total its about 15 acres, bordered by another two propertys that have about 10-12 acres each, and a 300 acre forst preserve... :D

thats my picnic in a nutshell

Hey, Dont forget about me, I hunt in Illinois! I should get the biggest buck out of all of us, since I live closest to Pike County! ;)

We seriously have 4 guys from IL?? This is sooo sweet!! Definitally gonna have a good chance of cleaning house on those elite 8 guys.

Little about my hunting locations....well i don't have a lot of places but I think the ones I have are pretty good. First one I have is my property. We have about 1 1/2 acreas of corn/soybeans and clover planted. There is a stand over looking the main entrance to the field...a great evening stand....only problem w/ this place is that some new neighbors moved in a couple of years ago and brought all of their family out one year and basically killed everything...they planted large fields, suckd the deer in, and dropped them in their tracks....so theres not much there and I don't know if i would take a deer from here even if i saw one

the next two locations I have are my really honey holes....they are each about 20 acres. the first is my uncles propery about 2 miles down the road, (will be spending a lot of evenings there) i've got one stand picked out where two trails meet right after one funnels the deer across a creek...and i haven't picked the other stand location yet...later this week the stand i have set is the one that i got my buck out of last year...just slightly repositioned to adapt to the changing deer trails.

the next place is about 45 min away...but most weekend will be spent down there....we have about 2 acres of corn and soybeans planted down there....again i have my stand set on a funnel where all of the deer cross from one side of a creek to another the banks are 20 ft everywhere else....is should be a great season..last rifle season i saw three different buck the first day...and then found sheds from 2 different ones this spring...the largest ones i posted already......but yea thats about all

I also can go ML hunting after x-mas w/ my uncle and if i really wanted to get me a buck w/ my bow (if i didn't get one already) he could set me up there and i would have a pretty good chance of connecting....he has some bomber stands
