Well they are getting bigger. I went out yesterday in my backyard with the sole purpose of dropping some does. Didn't see a thing and it was getting to the end of the hunt so I was going to call it a little early. I already had my arrow put away, my sight turned off, and my rope in hand undoing the tangle, when I heard what I knew was a buck coming in. I dropped the rope, knocked an arrow and turned on my sight.

He was a pretty buck. He was in the 125 class. Real nice symmetrical 8 point with good mass. He came right underneath me walking a good clip. I grunted just with my mouth to get him to stop. He offered a great shot but since this is my backyard I let him walk for next year. I have to say it's nice to be seeing some bigger bucks in my own backyard.

Hang in there and spend as much time as you can in the woods.

Good luck!

This was near one of my stands at the same time I was hunting another stand.[:@]As much as I am getting out this year I have a good feeling I would have let him have it.

Come on guys, we can get to 800 points. All we need are some 100 pt 8 points. I've passed up a few of them already. If your season is still in and your not seeing anything, look for a new place. If hunting in over already, call me, I have three states I can put you on the bucks. Hang in there guys. Let's finish this thing strong.

Well could of stuck a 20" fork tonight. lol Would of been a chip shot.We have snow on the ground and seems to be already slowing like late December. I will still get out not to worry butI just am not seeing anything even close to shooters lately. Slumps suck but I still am hopeful I will get something. Not to worry.

I would think Tribal could get at least a quarter of that.

I'm back in town for a couple days so I'd thought I'd drop in. Looks like we have our work cut out for us for sure. Late season rut, that's where it's at.

Firearm ended yesterday in MI so the deer should be back to normal in a week or two. I hunted four days over Thanksgiving and saw not one single deer. Wierd weather and gun hunters all over will sure make the deer sit.

Mathewsboy - when is the migration up there? You should be able to sneak an arrow in a 150+ during that time or the late rut, no? Years ago I hunted near Bergland and found a migration trail (so the locals told me). This place was East of town, then a mile north on Forest Hwy 400 off Hwy 28 to a road that led back to a parking area for a state trail system. This trail led around a few cliffs back to a river with a waterfall - cool area. The low valley part between the cliffs and the river held a deer trail that was easily as wide as a single lane width of a road. The locals told me this was part of the deer migration trail.

Almost tonight out of 25 deer in 2 hours I saw 4 were bucks. One was a 130" but I scared the hell out of him with a snort wheeze I tried to do as a last resort. The other 3 were all between 100-120.
