Team; let all of the common folk snipe at us. We can say that we've been to the winner’s circle before. Enough said.

Hey, I am happy to report I finally broke out my bow and dusted off the cobwebs and shot it a little over the weekend. I decided it wasn't tuned the way it needed to be so I messed with the rest. Didn't want to do it and thought I would screw it up. Good news is that it is shooting much well. I'm not positive if it couldn't be a little better but 3" groups at 40 yards, I'll take it.

That's not the best news I had over the weekend. Friday night coming into my neighborhood I spotted a nice buck with potential. He was a decent 8 pointer with a high rack and about a 15-18 inch spread. On Saturday, I stepped out my basement door and heard some noise a there was that 8 point slipping out of my yard into the woods, mid-day. He may have been sleeping under my dogwood below my deck. He's not big enough to shoot this year but like I said, good potential. I'm just happy to finally see one with potential around my house. Heaven knows something is nocking up the heard that lives in my yard at night.

Fieldmouse, don't you just hate it when those deer become a nusaince?
In one part of my yard I attract them with a salt lick to watch them from the kabin, just kinda entertaining but I don't think I could really shoot one cause there kinda like my pets. I had a 6x6 at the lick last year and just watched it and wouldn't feel right in shooting him, not to mention its illegal also, but I just morally wouldn't feel right about it.
I do have two treestands on the corner of my 21 acres here bordering the national forest, now if Mr. Big comes by there, he's S-O-L.

Just give your pet's a name you despise. Try Osama, Sadam or Ted Kennedy. When harvest time comes this fall you won't feel guilty in shooting you local deer.

With names like that, they should at least be put out of their misery. Who would want to eat them though. ?
Good luck guys,

Bobby

Congrats on the marriage!

Hopefully the wife will nag you so much about hunting that you will just shoot a spike to keep her quiet!

Congratulations on getting married. Now that you are, your sex life will just go downhill from here on out and so there's nothing left but hunting. We have it made gang.
