The HPH-12 and the HPH-24 are designed for .451/.452 bullets. HPH-12's are also the thicker of the two and designed for barrels with a bore diameter of .507-.508 and the 24" are for the tighter bore .504 -.505. They have one other savot the HPH-3p-EZ again a .451/.452 designed for the tighter bores of a lot of guns being made today .502 -.504.
When you place the bullet in the sabot it normally will go all the way down to the cup but will work back up just slightly. When you insert it into the barrel and push it down with the ram rod it will seat itself completely in the bottom of the sabot.
The HPH-40/50, blue sabot is actually the worst one for this. When you puta 10mm bullet in it you would swear it wasn't designed for and there is not much chance that it will seat properly, but it does...
Good luck with your shooting... I am
totally biasedbut I believe MMP's to be the best sabot out there. The added bonus is you will see next to nothing for plastic fouling...
