Nothing wrong with the .243 for coyotes or deer, it does mess up the pelt on a coyote, but I don't kill them for pelts...
I've had pretty good luck with the .243 on deer as well, have killed about 150 with mine...
Good thing about a .243...You don't have to worry about the scope jumping up and biting you....
