This deal about animals moving in and out of areas reminds me of what happened to one of our guys during bear season a few years ago. He was hunting the area between Little Medix and Medix Runs. Another hunter approached him, and they started a conversation. One thing led to another, and the other hunter asked Carey if he had been seeing many deer. Carey said he'd seen some, but not a whole lot. The other guy then proceeded to tell him that he would be wasting his time hunting anywhere around this part of the country, because the deer all go down to the Curwensville area this time of the year.
He could hardly wait to tell us that one when he got back to camp. We all knew this was probably not so, as we hadn't seen any buses in the area with Curwensville destination on their headers We figured they had to be taking buses, as it was just too far to walk.
Well, I thought I'd better share that with those of you who deer hunt the Medix areas. Now you will understand what has happened, and why you don't see as many deer as you used to. The ones you do see probably just missed the bus.
