Default RE: question about 30 cal bullets

I have been to New Brunswick twice. The areas I hunted there were thick cover. For thick cover I load the Sierra 200 grain in my 30-06 Carbine pump. It is a devastating rig, and extremely effective to 300 yards. I have seen alot of game shot with 30 caliber's, with Sierra bullets, and all the "Premium Bullets"-which I call expensive bullets. I have never seen a dimes worth of difference in the two. The more expensive bullets are just not worth it. The Sierra's will do all you want. If you want to shoot the 165's then go with the Sierra's and do not look back. I also shoot the Nosler Ballistic Tips. The are a little more expensive, but I sometimes get a little more accuracy over the Sierra's.

By the way, I caught the best brook trout in my life in the St. Croix river. That is truly a fantastic area. I would love to get back and fish Lake St. Croix-they say it is full of great smallmouth. Tom.
