I agree with 1950kid, get the .50cal.
Not only is there far more support for the .50cal guns, in terms of bullets and accessories, the .50's are just as accurate and can shoot bullets ranging from .40cal sabots to the big .50 conicals. This allows one a great deal of room to experiment with loads, and to taylor loads for any big game animal.
I shoot Precision Rifle QT .40cal (235grain) out of my Knight .50cal with outstanding results, both at the range and on deer.
