Default RE: what crossbow to buy?

ORIGINAL: GrumpyTom

carlc ..... Different people will always have different opinions on thier bows and what is best.

Since crossbows are "new to people" (even though they have been around for thousands of years) and most people that come into the world of crossbows, come into it with the vertical compound mentelllity which tells people that wheels are better. In the crossbow world, that is not necessarily correct. In the hunting world, I believe that simplicity is best. This is, if you need to, you can repair it in the woods and continue to hunt without ruining your hunt trip.

The only answer that can be truthful to you is .... you need to answer that yourself. Pick up the different bows and see what is best fitting for you. Will you be happy with a recurve or the compound (some people just have a one track mind and can't let go of a certain style bow).

All that I know is that Excalibur is the most accurate (tournaments have proven that over the last decade) and most dependable (least possible to go wrong). But what is best for you, you will have to decide that yourself.
Well said Tom!
