Default RE: Best learned lessons from 2006

I learned to let those 120 something inch bucks walk on opening day. Even if he was the 3rd buck to walk by. I know there are better bucks in the area I hunt in IL, but at 11 yards he wqs just too tempting and he will look good on my wall. But later while doe hunting after using my only buck tag, I had a nice 10 point maybe 135-140 inch at 25 yards in the open. So all I could do was take his picture. Next year I will let those 120-125 inch bucks walk and hold out for a bigger one. Not that there is aything wrong with a 120 inch buck. But where I hunt there are plenty of bucks bigger than that. I might not get one but it will be fun trying.
