.22 Hornet is a wonderful caliber. I have a Ruger chambered in it and I use it all the time. I have shot countless groundhogs with it and it will definitly anchor them out past 100 yards. I've never had a chance at a coyote with it but i'm sure that if you hit it where you're suppose to you wont have a problem.And if you do shoot squirrels with it, you better go all head shots.
