RE: freezing
Any digital camera will have a working tempiture which the camera is ment to work in. Some cameras are built to work in colder weather then others, sorry I am not familuar with your camera, but look up in the manual to see what it says. TO make a camera (alter or force) work outside it's normal range could cause damage to its control boards as they normally have precautions to shut down when out of normal range.
If you are talking about the camera freezing up inside it's normal operating range, then I would say that would most probually be casue by batteries. When you use rechargable batteries, as they get colder, their reserve power will drop and when the tempiture rises again, the reserve power will rise again. That is just the nature of rechargable batteries. The colder it gets, the lowerr the reserves become.
Good luck.
