RE: What is your maximum range on a game animal???
Washington hunter, I've only been on this site for a few days. After some time reading all the replies on different threads, you can get a feel for the attitudes and personalities of different users. The first thought that popped in my mind after reading numerous responses from yourself was that your arrogant. You may not be in person, but you certainly come off that way on this site. This doesn't take away from your intelligence, or yourtalant in the field, but again, my first impression.I feel I speak for many others, weather they admit it or not.Personally I don't care, I enjoy the controversy, and banter, and I think you do as well. If you didn't like it, you wouldn't post comments like "DON'T ARGUE IT".(by the way Wash, that was arrogant)Don't forget, your not the only bull headed user on this site. When you dismiss other people's opinion's completeley, you would befoolish to not expect a backlash. Now that I'm on the topic of opinions, I absolutely feel it's irreponsible to shoot past 50yds at a whitetail with a bow and arrow.(I think it wasstated that you found this humorous..Also arrogant)You want to why Wash,........because I've seen alot of wounded animals in my day. I'm 36, been hunting since I was 9 yrs old, bowhunting since 16. I know for a FACT that alot can go wrong at those distances. Yes I know many hunters are capable of shooting farther, including yourself, and myself for that matter. Yes, I know many hunters have made clean kills at these distances, and finally, Yes, I know many feel it's a matter of circumstance, and confidence. BUT... I feel the chances of wounding an animal are far greater beyond 50yds. It just takes a hell of long time for that arrow to reach the animal, period.....InMY eyes, it's irresponsible. I didn't point that comment directly at you or anyone else. It's simply my opinion, and I damn well have the right to voice it, just like you have the right todisagree.I love bowhunting Wash, and wounded animals running around witharrows stuck in their hams and guts don't make us look to good, especially to the antis. Antis would love to take away what we love the most, and in my OPINION careless shots at long distances contributes to the negativity that this sport gets. Carry on Wash, don't take it to personally. (well I guess the arrogant comment was personal, but it had to be said) ......feel free to ARGUE IT.
