Default RE: elite

I posted this a little while ago:

Germ told the very PC version of the story. What was left out was that Kevin accused Bowtech of firing him for marrying the Martin girl (Martin couldn't fire her being that she's family). Bowtech contended that the dismissal had to do with conflicts of interest, which seems to be the case because shortly after Kevin is dismissed a new bow company sprouts out of nowhere with a striking resemblence to the bows Kevin was making at Bowtech. Also, Elite had no designer on staff until Kevin was hired (from what I have heard at AT). To make matters worse Kevin has on more than one occasion started rumors about Bowtech regarding their manufacturing practices and service that is contrary to what most have experienced. He also made an insinuation that the cam on the Guardian and Commander looks "similar" to his K8 cam. Some technical issues have come up with Elite too, such as cam design issues where they were cutting into the string and the solution was, well, let's just say it involved a Dremel.

Bottom line, I could never own an Elite bow because they don't make left-handed bows, but even if I could I wouldn't because I don't feel comfortable in the way business is handled. That is not a holier-than-thou statement, but one that I would be afraid of putting my money into a product and wondering if I'd be left out in the cold. If they treat those that are to sell their products and make them money as Mobo indicated I can only imagine what would happen if I had a problem.

Just my 2 cents.
Since then I've had to eat a little crow. It's very difficult for me but I can admit when I am wrong. Since posting this Elite announced they will have the Synergy in left hand, and being that I don't like to take things on others' hearsay I called the company and have several talks with them about their products and business.

They are still small, but they have very good service. They are very helpful and willing to talk despite being busy. Knowing what I know now, I would have no problem owning one of this company's products and may at some point in time.

None of this changes what Kevin did, but he has let the business become what it is and it looks to be a success. Not to mention, the guy flat out knows how to design bows.

Now onto the Synergy. I have done a lot of research and I have a dealer in the area that I plan on seeing in the next two weeks. From what I have gathered the bow has a draw that can be described as in between a Tribute and a Guardian. That is it's not quite as smooth as a Tribby, which IMO is like butter, and not as stiff as the Guardian. The shot has been descibed as very shock free and extremely quiet. More quiet than an Allegiance with a hush kit. And the thing is FAST. So that's the scoop on the Elite Synergy.

No reviews on the Envy yet because nobody has one yet. From what I've heard it's going to be better than the Synergy which is already a winner. Hope this helps.
