Gotta shoot something
Well most lakes are still froze over. On friday My wife and I drove over to clinton lake to check it out. It is still froze from shore to shore, so again we still wait. Then yesterday I was up in the Jacob's creek area and just had to drive over and check it out. It is free and running. Still high and murkey. May be ready for a try next weekend if we get no more rain. Speaking of shooting something. Last Thrusday KBI-Prez brought me a nice freshly run over yearling. My and my trusty dog Pete drug it out into my back field, I might add in the pouring rain. It had just started to sprinkle when I tied my drag line to it. Just as I got the bottom of my hill it turned into a down pour. Of course I only had a sweater on. So we continued on and out it out into my chosen spot. My the time we got back to the house,we were both soaked, So i took the oppoutunity to give pete a bath. Well any how yesterday morning at 6am i looked out and there was a coyote eating away. one 110 gr V-Max later she was toast. I went out to get her and found that the deer carcuss was nothing but bones. Only took them two days to competely eat the whole deer. It usually takes about 5 days. I was over doing some scouting on Wednesday and talked to a local farmer. He told me that he knew a guy that was trapping the area, and he had already trapped 150 coyotes this year. That is a lot of dogs. He selling them alive to two different places. Wonder what they do with them?? I also picked up my trail camera yesterday and had 140 pictures on it, and it had only been out a week. One small punk buck, one buck had shed it's rack and the rest were does, and buttons. So you 'shed' hunters it is time to hit the woods. Just need the snow to leave to be better able to see them.
That pretty well sum's it up from here.
