I recommend trying several different sizes as well as reed numbers. Everyone's different. I used HS strut cheep-o's for a couple of years and with lots of practice could call fairly well (for me the single reed was easier). Last year I tried one of Primos Mini A frames and my calling came up to a whole new level. They fit my mouth so muchmore that now I can callbetter even with double or triple reeds.
