Default RE: Attitudes on Xbows

Gnerol, I hunt in Colorado with my crossbow. I just hunt in the rifle seasons. Colorado has a lot of opportunities for rifle hunters. For example, last year in my hunt unit (20) I got a private land tag for bucks that lasted 4 months- much longer than the archery season. I took a nice buck with the crossbow in Nov. (see "The Thousand Shot Buck" in this forum if interested in the story). The year before, I had a rifle tag for a cow elk that I harvested with my crossbow. Some of the rifle seasons are fairly short, but most late seasons (in some units) last 12 days. For me, if I can hunt the full 12 days, it usually enough time to get several chances at animals. My buck last year was taken on day 8 and I had passed up somesmaller bucksbefore that. There's a rifle bear hunt in Sept. that's during the archery season that's actually longer than the archery bear season. Where do you live in Colorado? I'm in Estes Park.
