I got myself an LED flashlight last year, it has 5 bright white LEDs, and one red one. It has 2 separate switches, so you can turn on the white or red alone, or both. I try to not use anything at all if I'm hunting familiar property, but a quick on with the red LED is better than tripping and making all kinds of noise.
