There are any number of websites that give very good info on how to preserve the fan. I just cut mine off, cleaned all the meat from the base of the tail, spread out on cardboard with pushpins and let it dry. After it dried Iturned it over and spread Gorilla Glue on the dried tail 'meat' to further preserve it and to hold thefeathers in the fan shape. Picture attached.
