RE: mounted quiver vs side or back quiver
I have thought about switching a few times myself.
i think the back or hip quiver will still catch my arrows on plenty of stuff in the woods, maybe even more than while they are on the bow.
The other problem i see is if they do catch on a branch or vine while in a hip or back quiver then my whole body weight will be pulling against them, not just my bow arm.
Some of the places I hunt are pretty thick and you have to duck branches and stuff.
I still think that for hunting, it is best to have your arrows on the bow. Just my opinion.
I practice with all but one arrow in my quiver, on the bow. That way, it is exactly how my first shot in the woods will be.
I do agree, getting the nocks full of dirt is a PITA.
