Default RE: California Public Land

camelclutch, theres nothing to disagree about, you said it all when you said "access to hunting areas" I spend more time in the field than anyone that I know, 12 months a year and the bulk of good hunting land is private or pay ,the harvest results on public land are deplorable. I also bowhunt and there are very few places that I haven't checked out. someone posted a photo taken this week of 73 jakes and longbeards in San Diego county on private land of course. public land has game but it also has a very heavy hunter population so the competition is fierce, about the time you get all set up with your decoys some yahoo either stumbles thru your setup or is stalking your decoys and I'm talking at least a mile from the road. There are always a few good hunters that do well and I consider myself one of them , but its because I have time to scout and hunt many days a year but someone coming into the area unprepared will get discouraged quickly.
