RE: Horton Stag Recurve?
I shoot a Stag! Not bad to plink with but there are limits on the shaft lengths and weights, and the trigger leaves something to be desired!Horton says to stay with feathers not plastic vanes and 100 grain tips.I have 6 Carbon Strikes in 17" and some Lighting Strikes which are aliminum and 17",they don't offer a carbon for the Stag anymore. They do have different flight patterns. The Lightnings will shoot about 4-6" higher than the carbons(I have a cheat sheet to remind me of that). If the trigger could be worked I would feel much more confident hunting with it,as much as I shoot it in the back yard I pity a head of game give me the right shoot at 35 yards and under! I can stick 3 together (under 2"s at 25 yards) regularly.I think it's a fantastic starter setup and with practice can't see why you can't hunt with it!Horton has always replied to my questionsand been of help with parts or advice. If I can be of more help let me know.
