I have use 180 grain bullets for years on elk & mule deer. I've had good results the plain old Remington "Core-lokt" and have used Winchester Power-Points also. I'm sure you'll get a few of the premium bullets (X's, A frame, Partitions) posts but in my 20 years of hunting elk with the 06----"Core-lokts" work just fine. TYI- I've taken 15 elk & have had about 15 taken in my camp--All with plain jane bullets.
