Roadkillwarrior; what you're doing will give you a lifetime of memories when you return to the woods that you planted. Chicken wire cages will help keep the deer, etc. out. Bucks usually only rub trees that are getting larger 2"+ in size and at least in my area they are deciduous (poplars, etc).
