At the risk of sounding like a whiner.....

I just started hunting this year. I have studied several books and web sites trying to learn how to make my hunt successfull. I got into scouting a little late, but found several trails and deer signs (the snow really helped that). I have no access to private land, so I have been doing all of this around the Frederick Watershed and Monocacy NRMA.

I have been out several times this season, have not seen a single deer, much less taken a shot at one. I was wondering if this self teaching will work, or if I need to make more of an effort to seek out experienced hunters and try to learn first hand from them. Also, I want to try to line up hunting rights to private land for next year. Any suggestions are welcome! Good luck to all in '03.
