Well, one reason for the white pines is because they grow quickly and my dad wanted to be able to see atleast alittle bit what its going to look like when hes long gone since the oaks grow slowly. Another reason is for a bedding area for the deer durring the winter. There is a pine thicket about half a mile from our propery and the deer seem to hang out in the pines more than anywhere else durring cold weather, especially when the snow hits. But this is our little experiment before we start planting the rest of the fields that we will mostly plant oaks in.
