I use to use 175 mag tips in my 7x57 mauser, and they sure worked well... I don't think they are anything spl. in the bigger magnums but within there rated velocity range they worked well for me..

I never used a Gran Slam that i was impressed with... Speed them up and they will come apart and stop penetrateing. They aren't even even close to being as good as an NP...
