But you are the one attacking other people for following realistic deer management goals. If everyone around you felt like you do and refused to shoot does, the deer would quickly overpopulate your area.
There are large ranches in Texas but there are still plenty of smaller properties. I'm hoping to soon own 160 acres that I will try to manage well. The area I am buying my land is not over populated and I will not be shooting does anytime soon. But many other areas are seriously overpopulated and shooting does is really the only effective way to control deer population in the southern united states. In the northern states you can allow winter to control the deer population but that isn't pretty.
I have in fact ventured from the south and do know what deerAND elk country looks like as I grew up in the beautiful state of Montana. Maybe you should think about leaving your little 150 acre hidey hole and seeing how if everyone practiced what you are preaching there would be serious issues in maintaining healthy sustained deer populations.
