Don't let me lose my toes!
I've been continuing to sit the stand behind the house 2-3 mornings a week before I go to work. Have seen the big boy twice, but havn't had a shot. every time, my toes get mighty cold, but since I am only out there for about 2 hours each time, it's manageable. I bought a new rifle this week, and yesterday I was in the woods at 530 (yeah, it doesn't officially get light till 7 but I wanted to be there and quiet before the sun came up.) I put a lot of stock in getting rubber boots to avoide the scent issue that leather boots can cause. I bought some "duck" stlye boots with 200 grams thinsulate. They were ok earlier in the year, but yesterday, the frost on the forest floor didn't start to thaw till about Noon and the battery operated socks just barely kept me from crying. I need some real boots. H
How much thinsulate should I look for?
Where should I look to get a good deal on them? and
what kind of features should I look for?
here in central VA, it seldom gets down to the teens, but I might take a week long trip next year to the mountains.
