well guys, I agree callin is important. but to be honest, i think
it's the least important tool of being succesful as a turkey hunter.
I think knowin your terrain, knowin where to set up, and a whole
lot of patients is more important than callin. as long as you can make a decent yelp and cluck, with the right rythem(sp) you can call up turkeys.
I busted up flocks in the fall while deer huntin, and listen while they gather back up. I swear, I've heard some that sounded more like a dog caught in a steel trap. I have an uncle in Missouri, that sounds like a squeeler duck when usin his box call. but he calls up turkeys. I guess what I'm tryin to say is, you don't have to sound exactly like a turkey, to call em in. but, I agree it helps to know the different calls, and when to use them. especially when your huntin on public land.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
