I went out bowhunting in the season after the rifle hunters. It's my first time to ever try this. Just trying to fill a doe tag for the freezer. I sat on the ground on the edge of a wheat feild and about 40 acre patch of creek-bottom timber. First I had 31 turkeys come right by me. Then I counted 22 antlerless deer that came out in roughly 20 min. This place that normally has around a dozen deer in it usually with about a 2 buck to 3 doe ratio. Then in the next 30 min, 14 more deer came out, all bucks. It was almost like they came out in order from smallest to biggest. I'm guessing 6 of them would make P&Y and 3 of them being in the 150 class range. The small feild was pretty full, I wish I had a camcorder or something.
I guess it's just that time of year for the deer to herd up. Anybody else been seeing some big herds in spots that shouldn't usually hold that many deer?
