Default RE: QDM

Where my group hunts its about 200 acres of private land. The problem we face is that there are so many gun hunters around there it's very hard to practice it. We stick to taking 3 1/2 olds or better and does. For every buck we kill, we try to kill at least two does. Thats what the DNR tells us would be good because of the high doe population around here. My other spot that only my uncle and I hunt is also about 200 acres. This place is littered with does, I mean like 35-40 of them. All I have seen are 3 bucks, 1 six point with a lot of potential, 1 spike, and 1 nice 2 1/2 135" 10 that is just a fantastic deer. I know theres more bucks because my trail cam has picked up more but those 3 are the only bucks I say bowhunting and this is are first year hunting this spot. So I would say this spot has much more potential than my other spot. We shot 2 does and 1 numby buck by mistake ( oh well live and learn) there. I think QDM works and I have faith that over time it will pay off.
