Another good choice, as mentioned above, would be a brassica planting. All the popular seed companies now offer good brassica blends and I've had good luck with several.
Here's probably what I would consider the easiest and cheapest brassica blended plot to grow. Bio-Logic Green Patch Plus is a good mix of brassicas/wheat/oats. It grows nearly anywhere and it grows quickly.
Another very impressive Brassica plot that I've had good results with is the Tecomote Ultra Forage. I think this is THE best growing brassica plot I've tried to date but I didn't get the mix of seed species to come up like I was hoping for. The brassica and rape grew exceptionally well though and I had deer on this plot from the Oct 1 opener to the close of bow season.
