I see that you've already had the shot placement question answered. I had to track and recover a deer a guy I used to hunt with shot in the brisket like that. It went about 500 yards or so. He never would have found it, and if I wasn't so damn stubborn, I might not have, either. Bad shot, but you already knew that.

Also, I think you're wasting your time shooting at foam, making a target, going to Wal-Mart, etc. I highly recommend the Morrel Eternity targets. They truly are two-finger removal, long-lasting targets. I'm going to get another one this year, but shot my previous one for going one three or four years. It's still fine, but a couple of the spots are starting to get "shot out". For safety and ease, I really think they can't be beat.
