I just talked with my wife's friend and found out your not even supposed to pick up a road kill. If you want to collect a roadkill, you go down to the county sheriff's office and sign up. Then when a roadkill is reported, the dispatcher sends out a deputy. If it's a valid call, the deputy tells the dispatcher who in turn calls people on the list until they find someone on the list to come collect the deer. So if you're driving down the road and a deer runs out in front of you and you hit it doing a couple of thousands of dollars damage to your vechile, you can't claim the deer unless you're on the list! GOD! I love our government! Always good for a laugh.
