I do not use a release, I have never tried one.
I started out as a finger shooter, after about 2 weeks I bought a cheap-o release. Accuracy went way up. Spent a little more time and money on a good release and never looked back. I vote for trying a release.

It could be your vision that won't allow you more accuracy than you are getting.
Best thing in the world you could do for yourself is get a release. A release made a huge difference in my accuracy. The other thing that really helped me out was getting glasses. As I couldn't keep focus for longer shots. Also what type of rest are you shooting??? That may play into it a bit also. A finger shooters rest generally put's lateral pressure on the arrow where as a release shooter's rest gives mostly vertical pressure. Good Luck, hope some of what has been offered her helps.
