Raplh if what you tried to say earlier was that todays recurve and compounds are a resemblence of their ancestors. i retort by exclaiming, " What you been drinking?" A modern bow of any breed resembles nothing but themsevles. Not to mention the accessories that one can purchase to go with it.Arrows today have no reference to there ancestors either. We fletch with plastic, uni noc, screw in adapters, build them of any number of composits, etc. if you wish to say todays archery equipment is relative of anything the Egyptians used. Then you must admit a crossbow holds those same heritage lines. And a inline MORE resembles an ancient Chinese rifle than a flintlock does. Those were inlines!! A hollow bar loaded with powder and ignited from the aft by flame...no hammer or flint.
