Default RE: thoughts on the 280 rem round

Get off it the 06' is no special performer and does nothing that the 280 rem won't equal. I wouldn'twant either when hunting anything that could eat me, sorry the abilityof .308 diameter bullets really doesn't mean anything to me or many I know. BTW, you don't need a 200 gr 308 bullet or 175gr .284 bullet to hunt elk or moose!! I hunt both regularily and other then my 300wby(which had nothing to do with requirement but accuracy), never saw the need for the heavier for caliber bullets. I currently use a 140gr barnes TSX in my 7mm rem mag and have taken both with single shots. My partner uses a 280 rem and 160gr bullets, same results 1 shot harvests of antelope, deer, elk and moose! Handloaded the 280 is great round that won't leave the owner wanting unless hunting the big bears. The .284 calibers is just as capabable as a .308 IMO ballistical and terminal performance.
