i live and hunt in 5c. there is a major deer problem, but i think the solution is not more hunting, but stop building so many damn houses. i know for a fact that i can go out any day at any time and see deer where i hunt, but most of the people i know who bowhunt let does walk untill later in the year. i dont see any reason for starting bow season sooner. but the two weeks between bow and gun can seem like forever.
OK you dont see any reason to start the season sooner.I gotno problem with that. On the other hand , do you see any problem with starting ittwo weeks sooner for those guys who will go out and take advantage of it? I and some of the guys I hunt with in 2B try to take some does out very early and then when the rut comes we can concentrate on the bucks. We are hunting an area that needs does killed so we do it early in the season before the rut. two earlier weeks makes us more effective at that.
