Ihave yet to get my hands in the way of the string, but I suspect it is just a matter of time.. I am very conscious of that string before I fire, more so than I am of whether of not there is an arrow in place.

I feel like a ghost from the past... I would like to note that if you are shooting off a bench, Watch your fingers and thumb. The hold position seem a bitdiif and you do not (based on my experience) want them to drift above the rail... >>>>>>>>>>>>Wh ack. Still looking for a thumbnail.
last week while shooting my recurve at club, a crossbow shooter was sighting in a crossbow, i heard this awful yell and woman got all bent out of shape..
this must have been his wife..he went to pull the crossbow string back and did not have his rubber boot into stirup far enough,up came horton bow and knocked 1 tooth out and awful cut on his lip..
blood everywhere,of course the young compound shooters were laughing, thats 1 less crossbow shooter in woods..i told a few, how about knuckle sandwich from me too see how it feels, ha..
