Well for my $.02 there was nothing wrong with rechambering the rifle to '06 as this was the trend back in the days. Cheap ammo, bullets, brass and the whole deal made it very cost effective and produced a rifle with a little more downrange horsepower. I say shoot it and enjoy....a finecaliber by any standards.
