The thing u want to consider is if u will be able to get to full draw the same now as when u are hunting. Your form may not be perfect in a treestand,or with bulky clothes , or at a bad angle.
Back tension releases are FORM releases. It takes PERFECT form to set them off. They are for teaching good shooting form , not hunting. I strongly suggest you use it off-season only.
Just my opinion.
Practice from a tree stand, practice with your hunting clothes on. I shoot from every angle, every kind of shot then when I hunt, I don't worry about anything except making sure of the yardage.Trust me, you don't have to have perfect form to set them off, I know many guys that have almost knocked their teeth out by not using them properly or poor form.

Kind of like telling someone that you know many a guy who has electrocuted themselves after a warning is given, that changing their own outlets could result in them not working when needed.

I don’t use one and haven’t been sold on doing so for hunting. Comfortable doing it the way I do and don't want to mess with it. A lot to be said for that. If you need to change because your not as good as you want to be, give it a chance. If your happy with the way things are, don't mess with it untill your sure you have it down.
