Never happen. Been there, waste of time. What you've seen here is merely the tip of the iceberg.
My initial reaction to this thread, was that some had
found a rock of crack and had consumed it all to once. Nothing subsequent to that first impression, has indicated anything different on a scale of rational behavior.
As for elk, they were starting to wander across the Clinton/ SW Potter border back in the early to mid80s. Know that because some friends of mine have had camps in that area for over 50 years. Saw the pics of cow elk and calvestaken near their campsin the spring, that long ago (early 80s).
